WHAT: Welcome to the advanced SC Athletics spring baseball league. This league strives to be the closest thing to “Travel Ball” without the headache of “Travel Ball.” Parents want to play more competition than a standard league offers, but the stress of travel can be overwhelming. This league will offer kids the chance to practice and play more than once per week. This league in total lasts 12 weeks. This league consists of three practices per week for the first two weeks. Upon the start of the third week, games will begin. Once games begin, teams will practice twice per week on weeknights. On the weekends, teams will play four games. The first three games on the weekend will seed the teams. The fourth game will determine the winner of the weekend. Each weekend, teams will receive power points to go towards their final seeding for the end of the season championship tournament. This tournament will be a double elimination tournament. The winner will receive trophies. 

WHO: Our advanced league is for the player who can catch and throw. They can field their position and make the play consistently when the ball is hit to them. For the most part, they have played baseball, and have a general understanding of the rules. If this doesn’t describe your son, please consider signing him up for our developmental league. Coaches that have teams already are welcome to bring their entire team and play in the league. There is a discount for teams.

WHERE: Cargill Park, Shreveport, LA. All our practices and games will be held at Cargill Park in Shreveport, LA. 

WHEN: Spring of 2023, March-May. Registration is open and will close on February 22.

WHY: Let’s face it, there is a lot wrong with youth sports. It’s expensive, time consuming, and the atmosphere around the games isn’t one we want our kids to grow up in. We are fixing that. This league is first and foremost Gospel-centered. We are putting Christ back into youth sports. Before every practice, teams will partake in a quick devotional lead by local FCA staff. We will teach the kids what it means to be a Christian athlete. On game days, we will make sure parents are on their best behavior. Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated from anyone on the facility grounds. There are no gate fees during the league weekends. We want everyone to be able to come and watch their kids and grandkids play baseball without the expense of a typical travel tournament.

COST: $300 per player. Team discounts and sibling discounts are available. The fee includes uniforms for anyone who isn’t already a part of a team with uniforms of their own. It also includes a league t-shirt for all players.
